In 2001, Jerod Barth started a small landscape company. ProScapes grew to service hundreds of homes and businesses in Skagit and Whatcom counties through hard work, resilience, and creativity. As a fourth-generation local, Jerod takes pride in investing in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. ProScapes endeavors to invest in Skagit Valley and proudly supports Youth Dynamics and the Hospice of the Northwest.

THE PROCESS

MAKING YOUR VISION A REALITY

  • STEP 1: CONSULTATION TO EXPLORE IDEAS

    We begin with a no-cost consultation. We listen to YOU and observe the landscape site. We aim to understand YOUR objectives, preferences, and budget to create a custom plan aligned with YOUR vision and finances. We provide professional budget and idea input. The meeting typically occurs at the landscape site; ideally, we can walk the property with you, allowing us to get a feel for the terrain, including soils, existing plants, irrigation, natural lighting, and topography.

  • STEP 2: PROPOSED DESIGN & PLAN

    After the initial consultation, if there is a commitment to move forward, the landscape designer will sketch out a plan. This plan includes design details such as patterns, placement of hardscapes or water features, irrigation, compatible plants, and other features. The designer may present variations on the plan to give the you more than one option. After discussing the sketch, the plan is either agreed upon or proposed modifications are noted. Budget is discussed, but pricing is still only an estimate. An actual bid price is provided once the plan is finalized.

  • STEP 3: PROJECT BID PRICE & TIMELINE

    After the landscape plan is approved, a detailed bid price is provided which outlines materials and labor costs. We also provide a proposed timeline and a target completion date. This timeline is an important communication tool since it outlines the milestone dates that keep the project on track. If issues such as weather arise that delay the project, or if you change the plan, we communicate any impact to the schedule. We do plan some flexibility in the schedule for scheduling hiccups, but our business goal is to deliver projects on schedule 90% of the time.

  • STEP 4: PROSCAPES CREWS AT WORK

    The biggest part of a landscape development process is the installation and construction work. We measure team performance based on the efficiency of their work as well as quality. Once the work is complete, we follow-up to make sure you are happy. We consider the job finished only after we’ve created the outdoor experience we designed and committed to build.

I'm a returning customer. Proscapes built a patio, extended my deck, and made a cement base for a shed in 2022.  This time around they built a stone stairway, that also required a retaining wall.  I'm very happy with the responsiveness, estimates, and the professionalism of the work.

We have had Proscapes develop, plant and maintain or landscaping for several years. Each time a new garden area has been developed, we have been pleased with the outcome our most recent project was a new cement patio (via Kodiak) and accompanying landscape of the surrounding area. The crew, as always, efficient and have cleaned up after themselves. Our only disappointment was when the new patio was with a subcontractor on the project.  We love our patio and the surrounding gardens. I searched high and low for someone to install an irrigation system at my house on Whidbey Island. There is literally not a single company on the island.
Thankfully I found Proscapes in Anecortes and they were willing to come to South Whidbey.
I am thrilled with them! It was super easy to schedule an on site consultation. I receive a quote the next day and they started work within a couple of days.
The entire team was super knowledgeable, professional, and did excellent work. It was a huge job and they finished it in a very timely manner.
